LONDON (AP):

Formerly-banned sprinter Dwain Chambers was picked yesterday for Britain's track team at the world championships in Berlin next month.

Chambers, who tested positive for the steroid THG in 2003 and served a two-year suspension, joins automatic pick Simeon Williamson and Tyrone Edgar in the 100 meters, and will race alongside Marlon Devonish and Toby Sandeman in the 200 at worlds, which run from August 15-23.

His inclusion in the 100 was expected, even though he failed to earn a guaranteed spot in the British trials in Birmingham earlier this month. The 31-year-old Chambers lost to Williamson in the 100 trials and withdrew from the 200 because of fatigue.

Head coach Charles van Commenee has said Chambers would be welcomed back into the team.

Ohuruogu gets nod

Olympic and world 400 champion Christine Ohuruogu is included, despite being troubled by a hamstring injury, which ruled her out of the recent Golden League meeting in Paris and the London Grand Prix last weekend.

Marathon world record-holder Paula Radcliffe, 35, had already been selected but is still recovering from surgery to remove a bunion from her right foot.
